Character Name: Detective Eric Matthews

Character Appearance: Eric Matthews isn't tall or beefy. He's broad, but a lifetime of hard work and playing football will do that to a guy. He's starting to go bald, and he's unusually pale for a guy who supposedly gets out and "interacts with the public" On a Daily Basis. His strength hasn't waivered however, and he uses that to it's full advantage, either in bringing down a suspect legally...or illegally.
Character Personality: Eric Matthews is a cop first and a human being second. One of the guys who'd plant evidence to get a conviction back in the old days. (...Something that still occurs apparently. But that's just the convicted talking) He's prone to violence first and asking questions later, impatient and easily annoyed-he's not above threatening everyone from convicted shoplifters to innocent civilians on the street.
Sure he bends the rules a bit, but lately his lapses have become more and more frequent until his suspension from the department's most recent big case-the "Jigsaw" Killer.
It's said that every cop has a "Bottom Drawer" Case. The case they look back on whenever they've got spare time. Jigsaw was shaping up to be Matthews's baby. It would either be his swan song with the department, or his magnum opus. It turned out to be neither, as it was passed off to the FBI and he was shuffled into the basement. He took the suspension, coming back stronger and more determined then ever to catch the most notorious serial killer since Charles Manson.
Forsaking everything, including his friends and family.
